It seems that spam is just getting worse and worse, I was hoping by making post flair required, updating the rules and the other small changes we have done would slow, reduce, or eliminate the spam assault, but unfortunately it hasn't. So now some bigger changes need to happen, so I'm reaching out to ya'll for some input. Changes I'm considering are as follows... 1) Making it to where only people that have officially joined r/IdahoHotSprings can post... 2) Making it to where all posts get held for moderator approval before being visible to the community... 3) Making it to where only those who have officially joined and have been verified may post and have more freedom to post what ever... 4) Making it to where only those with a certain amount of karma or a certain cake day can post..
Personally I'm leaning towards #3 with a twist of #4 when it comes to commenting.
All of the above options will impact the whole of r/IdahoHotSprings so I want your imput.
I will also be working to get an automod set up to manage issues such as post flair requirement, rule violations and just general community maintenance.
Please share any thoughts, recommendations, or ideas with me directly, through messaging mods, or commenting on this post. I have also opened a live chat please keep in respectful.
Just trying to make this a successful and not spam ladden community for all of us.
Thank you, AJ aka u/EasyInteraction88
