Just moved to Idaho not very long ago and I’m pretty confused… are you not able to get a state ID here?
The DMV office in our town keeps insisting that I HAVE to get an Idaho drivers license and makes it seem as though state ID’s are not even an option.
So unfortunately now the state identification card has been phased out. It is now the star card for everything so that's it. Unfortunately with the star card it's a little harder to get because it requires more identification but if you have a current photo ID and birth certificate that is accepted by the state it's pretty easy. But depending on what county you're in expect about a week or two before you get in and get it.
Edit: I had a little bit of incorrect information, IDs are not getting phased out, they are still available with one less documentation than Star card.
Yes it has been a thing in the past correct, but when's the last time you did it sir? I just try to do it two weeks ago. As did my brother, unless they are not advising us properly and telling us to get a star card where I could just get her ID then I don't know. Cuz I know it says identification card online and it does say identification card for voting but when I went there and try to prove who I was they were like you need all this documentation it wasn't a proper ones.
I know what it says my man, go in person like I did and get turned away like I did, I needed to get my birth certificate and more documentation. Also try to renew online like you used to.
Well you can go ahead and speak to them, and the website as of last month because those options are completely gone. Seems to be an option for voting but didn't try that route yet.

I had the documentation for an ID. I didn't have the documentation for a star card same as my brother. So unless the people at the window decided to just tell me to go fuck myself I don't know. I just looked and try to see if it was available online and I don't see it anymore, had my brother tried to do the same and he said he couldn't do it either. The only reason I stated so is because I had all this issue happen a few weeks ago because I had a really important matter where I've been stuck in this endless loop of trying to get my documents in order. Do you think I want to own a star card, This racist piece of legislation that has been in the work since 9/11 LOL. I'm just saying either I got lost in the tubes or I don't know. Few months ago it was possible to do it online when I try to do it my expiration date on my car was too long, now there's no option to do it online.
