Hey guys, I'm sure you've noticed that we've been getting a lot of sex and dating spam. You may also have noticed that I am a new moderator (hello world!). I moderate a bunch of other subs and was brought in to install a spam filter. In all of my subs, there has been a lot more sex spam than usual, and reddit's built in filter is just not able to handle it. So the way that we're dealing with this is by creating a whitelist so that only certain domains can be posted to the subreddit. If your link is not one of those domains, automoderator will remove it.

The allowed sites (for now) are:

imgur.com (you should mainly be using this site)

wikipedia.org

wikimedia.org

tumblr.com

nationalgeographic.com

shorpy.com

archives.gov

flickr.com

nasa.gov

This list will be dynamically updated as the spam continues. Hopefully this will decrease the amount of spam we get and you can continue enjoying the images. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for your cooperation.
