A lot has been going on in Icenia for the past several weeks and it is important to keep the citizens of Icenia in the know for what has been going on in their own nation.

• ICENIAN ELECTIONS FOR SEPTEMBER

August is coming to a close and that means that elections for senate/congress as well as a gut check election for the council of three will be happening at the end of this month and in September. Here are the details.

• On Congress/Senate

There is currently discussion about replacing our current elected body of congress with a more local senate. Senators would still be democratically elected but instead of it being a national election Icenia would be divided down into districts and you would vote for the senators running in your district. This is currently what we are planning on doing in September. Details on the districts and the election in detail should be coming out as soon as the start of next week.

• On the council of three "gut check" election

Due to many people requesting for one and in the interest of democracy there will be a "gut-check" election for the three members of the council of three (chrischrispie, droidjoe, smal) on SEPTEMBER 9TH. It should be noted that this election will be different from that of a congressional election/senate election.

Essentially, the three current members will be re-elected if more people approve then disapprove of their performance. This will be done via a vote to the modmail of the Icenian subreddit or another voting site. If a council member of multiple council members do not have more approval then disapproval the congress/senate shall appoint a new member of the council of three. We hope to see you turn out for this election.

• VOTER ELIGIBILITY

There is a voter eligibility thread currently stickied for the month of August it should be noted that if you are eligible by commenting on that post this month it will carry over into September so please post on it. If you don't post on it or forget to, it is not the end of the world however. If you are obviously active in Icenia than you will be considered eligible, however I can not stress enough to comment on the post.

• ICENIAN PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS

If you want something to do, or if you are interested in working on Icenia there are many jobs open for you to do. Icenia needs to look a lot nicer and it needs to have better infrastructure. This means we need more roads, bridges, tunnels, and terraforming. Our farms also require work.

If you are into the building side of everything please contact the subreddit or a official and state what you would like to build. If you are good at building and have some great ideas I highly advise this. We need more nice builds.

• SHOPS AND MORE

Shop plots are free to any Icenian citizen and are located in the Philomel Tunnel or in our soon to be opened shopping mall by the train station. If you are interested in a shop and you know how to set up shop exchanges please contact the subreddit or any official in game and we can get you set up with a shop plot.
