Hey guys! I recently brought my Ibanez jem Jr to a local luthier. He was recommended by a local shop. He operates from home.
I purchased a Gotoh 1996 to swap and needed him to drill the stock post holes to be able to fit the Gotoh anchors and studs since gotohs studs do not fit the stock ones. He made a mistake and told me when he drilled the holes an error was made (it’s too much typing for me to explain it all lol) he needed to buy a whole new jem Jr for me. Note: I never even saw my original guitar that I brought to him.
He went on and said he bought “Gotoh branded studs” that would fit the stock posts on the Jem jr. From my research Gotoh does not make such a thing but I could be wrong. Can anyone confirm this for me?
Tl;dr: does Gotoh make studs that would fit an Ibanez jem Jr. Without the need to route the stock post holes bigger? If not, this guy just robbed me of $145
