Post Body

Simply put, when I picture an intelligent person I picture someone who is observant. Who can learn a topic well enough to be authoritative with it. Someone who can think deeper than surface levels.

I am not one of those people.

When playing chess, for example, even though I've been playing it my whole life I still can't plan ahead or predict anything. It's as though there is a complete blank. And this affects just about everything in my life. From video games, where I can get the basics quicker than most people I play with however hit my skill cap much sooner as well, all the way to things such as conversation where it makes it difficult for me to hold conversations for more than a comment or two.

I'm pretty tired of feeling like my brain functions on such a basic level that I'm forever doomed to be unable to even be competitive or comfortable with anything.

edit: I went to bed last night and woke up with over 40 more answers! I don't know how many of you I will respond to, but I will read every comment. Thanks for taking the time to help
