Post Body

こんにけわ、みんγͺさん。I’m an Indonesian-born Singaporean who wants to be a localization specialist for Japanese game companies.

I majored In English Dramatic writing in the US but I’m currently stuck in Singapore because of the pandemic. Did subtitle editing work for anime for about 8 months after I graduated and now I work in tech where I help a social media company with a particular workflow in both English and Japanese. (Been 3 months so far) unfortunately, that’s about all my professional experience.

I’m not particularly interested in any other translation work, but I will do them as a means to the end goal I have. My known fluent languages are Japanese, English, Bahasa Indonesia. I plan on picking up Spanish after passing all my Japanese tests. Jobs that interest me involve translating for movies/TV shows/games/anime. Basically, localization work.

I know I won’t be able to land my dream job immediately, as I’m still working my way towards JLPT N1. I also want to build up more credibility on my professional experience, at least in terms of how long I’ve been working for. I’m just here to find out about the immigration process and work visa process in Japan.

So may I know what the whole process is like coming to work in Japan? As well as several tips, maybe even what are my chances. I’d even consider working in other companies elsewhere in the US/UK/EU if I’m offered the job I want.

Thanks in advance! γ‚ˆγ‚γ—γγŠι‘˜γ„γ—γΎγ™οΌ
