Looking to move to the US. I have the possibility to do so with the company that I'm working on, on an L1. I'm a software engineer with a C1 in English and a B2 in Mandarin, with a CS Statistics degree and around 2 years of experience. I have the following questions:
I don't care about living in the US as a long-term thing. I just want to save as much as possible for as long as this software engineering window is open. Which state potentially enables this? I can virtually go to any state and get paid a wage relative to that state and zone. I want to make sure that I optimize salary - (tax cost of living).
The current situation of the world kind of scares me on the econ side. Considering the unstable economical climate GPT development in the following years, can I just come back to CR without any problem ignoring any implications I might have with my employer if I get laid-off?
How do you deal with the idea of leaving your parents? It truly hurts me to know that they'll be here getting older, and that they might die, and I won't be able to use literally any amount of money to talk back to them.
Which state might also be good to just enjoy myself on the weekends? I love hiking, camping, practicing my mandarin, dancing, reading and talking about the things I've read with random people, having a decent amount of social life (which I think I can develop in most places since I'm very very social). Would also love for the place to be liberal enough to do some short-term dating. This one is not a priority, but would be great if complimented with the first point.
