Park Rangers in the IWW
Post Body

So the IWW does not allow police in however under the Department of Agriculture, Land, Fisheries, and Water products under the subdivision of Forestry and Lumbering, rangers and game wardens are mentioned.

I am currently a member of a conservation corps and the IWW and now that my service year is ending, I am ready to make a career change. I wish to continue in a career in conservation and I am considering joining the park rangers.

In California, park rangers and game wardens are state law enforcement officers, but rangers also happen to do natural resource work, search and rescue, emergency medical, etc.

In other states, rangers do have a more environmental focus. In Oregon, they are not even cops at all.

This makes me wonder if rangers are allowed in. The document that I am referencing is written by W. E. Trautmann. In 1911, US state and federal rangers (as did foresters) had law enforcement powers alongside their other responsibilities.

Does this mean rangers are still allowed in or does the No cop rule still apply to them?

Thank you
