I just don't understand this! Aetna and CVS have both called me in the past week, and start the conversation our with, "we need to verify your address and date of birth."
How does a company that has to comply with HIPPA not have a better process than this. It's not just stupid to give your PII out to someone because they claim to be from Aetna, but Aetna and CVS are adding to the problem by making it an actual practice.
I'll call my pharmacy back and talk to them to find out what they wanted, but it just goes to show how hard it is for IT to get people to take this stuff seriously when huge companies are being this stupid
