Literally no experience, how do you score a job like that?

So to save all the sappy stuff - short story short, im 27, started in customer service where I hear this can be a pro but because of the hand I was dealt I had to leave and go to factory and have been there for the last 5 years, where I live it was just great money and I stuck with it, not because I enjoyed it.. Recently I got injured at my job and that was quite the eye opener, this isn't an industry I want to sink more into.

I have distant friends involved in IT and have always been passionate about it, the growth is insane and it can be very rewarding, what I do now has none of that. I'm putting myself in school this year after a little more research on what exactly I'd like to specialize in as far as IT goes, but I have zero experience, I have all the ambition and have done lots of online courses and things but that doesn't seem enough.

My questions are; What jobs should I be looking for, how do I present myself with no experience that could have a company lean in the direction of wanting to hire me over others, what could I be doing better to maybe get some credentials? Any pointers help.
