Just started a new job, not sure if it's the place for me.
Post Body

So I just moved to a new city and got a job a few weeks after moving, an IT job working for a biomedical/cancer research center. The job pays decently (although not as much as I was making previously). I essentially just accepted the job because I didn't have any other offers yet. However, after a few weeks of working here I'm not sure if it's the right environment for me to work in.

I come from a background in corporate computing, previously working in IT for a Retail chain HQ, and then a pharmaceutical company. Both of those environments were very office-based with cubicles etc.

Where I'm at now is totally different. It's a research institute, so most of the users I'm supporting are laboratory-based scientists, working with high-grade science equipment. The whole place is essentially a bunch of laboratories, and you almost get a feel that it's similar to a hospital. I don't know, the environment itself just gives me the heebie jeebies and sort of makes me feel uncomfortable.

I'm continuing to apply to other jobs in the meantime but it's hard to schedule an interview when you just started with another company. I honestly debated resigning because of how I felt but I didn't know how long I'd be without a job for.

Not even sure what I'm looking for here... Advice, also just wanted to vent this out a little bit.
