Hello,
I plan on taking the A exam by middle of january and I had a couple of concerns.
The course I am taking is from comptia, and it is well rated, but there are some issues with a few of the questions feeling outdated. Probably the biggest offenders are questions of storage capacity. When the course goes into SD cards and micro sd's, it said that the max capacity for a micro sd is 10 GB, yet I have a 16 GB microsd in my phone and there are plenty of 32GB and higher on the market. Since I saw that this question was a bit dated, I got a bit paranoid about the rest of the course.
Is the A exam kept up to date on current technologies and if so, will having outdated information be a problem when I go to take it?
Secondly, I wanted to know just what the process of the exam is. My mom said it consists of two different tests but I don't know what they cover as far as what I have been studying.
Finally, is all this stuff I'm learning really going to be useful once I get a job in IT? While yes, I should know the difference between STP and UTP cables, and what transmission speed usb 3.0 has, do I really need to know that an HDMI connector has 19 pins, or that plenum cables don't release toxic gas when burnt?
I just want to make sure that I'm studying for what I really need or getting a bunch of fluff.
Thank you.
