Morning everyone, I've been debating for quite a while if I should start transitioning to cloud since it looks like the network admin/engineer roles are becoming things of the past and haven't seen a much salary compensation as compared to cloud. I've been in network field for 5 years now, obtained various certs in the Cisco, palo, fortinet,Aruba, arista spectrum and have harvested sheer amount of experience from rack and stacking equipment as an intern to consulting and working in vast Data centers / campus networks. I had been attempting to increase my salary by earning hard earned raises and job hoping to more demanding roles but it doesn't compare to the salaries for a cloud network engineer or solution architect. I understand Cloud SA and Cloud Net Eng are 2 different things but I find the decision of jumping to a new field and the idea of starting from scratch a bit intimidating. Does anyone have any first hand experience transitioning from a regular network engineer role to cloud? Did any skills you learned transferred or helped you in any way? Is it worth it?
