So I came to Canada in 2016 and completed my diploma in Computer Information Systems Intended in 2018. Due to some immigration issues I could not get a job in IT back then. Now, I am not able to land an interview even tho I have applied for *god knows* how many jobs in either desk support or IT support, or even cybersecurity. I have a chance to take a $7500 scholarship, but they need proof that anything I will do will help me land a job (they literally asked for 10 job search results with the certification listed as education requirement), not only that they only are going to fund one thing (so can't do multiple Comptia's with them). How do I go about landing a job in IT when my diploma seems almost outdated at this point?
Any advice on this would be appreciated. If this helps, I live in Vancouver BC, Canada.
Summary: 1. How do I land a job in IT with a 7 year old diploma and no experience at all? 2. If I can't land a job because of outdated diploma, is there a certification that I can do that can fulfill certain scholarship requirements that can help me land an entry level job?
