To be clear, I don't have any work experience, but once I finish my degree and get my A and Sec certifications I would like to start at help desk. I've come to learn that it is the best way to gain fast hands on experience with problem solving.
However, I've noticed quote a few posts where people typically stay in help desk for extended periods of time. I'm looking into NE, and while I do plan on getting more certs in relation to that field I'm confused as to how I get there from help desk.
Is the answer to stop applying to help desk positions and aim for relevant higher positions? If so, what do I need to give me an edge? How do I make myself stand out?
I feel like I'm worrying too much but I'd really appreciate any advice you could give.
