Hey all! As the title says, I’ve just received and accepted the largest offer of my career. I’ll give you a background on myself as of now. Started off in IT as a service desk technician at a huge payment processing company, stayed there for about 4 - 5 months. I then received an offer at a MSP. Started off as a NOC tech/in house IT support. Was extremely good at my job and was a offered a system admin job for one of our larger clients. Stayed here for about 1 year and 7 - 8 months. I then was offered a job as a cyber security engineer at a relatively large MSP. Currently work here (just hit my one year). Received an offer and accepted it, (not a MSP). This company basically doubled my salary and I have a yearly bonus that ranges from 15 - 20 percent.
Additional notes- no active certifications, however I do have college and am also taking my CISSP once I am on-boarded and comfortable within my position (have been studying for about 5 months now).
Moral of the story, if you constantly practice and apply yourself, you will succeed. Also, job hop! It’s the best way to move up, or at least from what I’ve experienced. I want to thank this sub, as I’ve learned so much from everyone!
