I got my A and Sec last year and finally managed to land a job at an MSP as tier 1 help desk. Experience has been pretty common (from what I’ve read about MSPs) but I recently applied at a spot that I wanted to work at from the jump of starting this whole journey and I killed the virtual interview. Next Friday I have an in person technical interview where they said they will have me answer some networking questions etc. The new job is a tier 2 job and even though they are looking at tier 1 and that’s what I originally wanted they are pushing me for tier 2 based off of my interview yesterday and the way I look on paper.
My question is besides packet tracer what things can I use to practice? I’ve got my study materials and practice tests from A and Sec but other than brushing up on general concepts I don’t know how much help they would be. I have an inside contact at the new MSP who said the scenarios will probably be network troubleshooting with a dummy network with a switch issue or something and then a laptop with a small issue.
Any help is appreciated or if you’ve experienced this before what was it like for you? Thanks!
EDIT: I should say that I’m self taught. Was working at Best Buy before this and didn’t start at my current MSP until November 2022. So I’m two and a half months green essentially.
