The Heart's Invisible Furies by John Boyne
Post Body

This book has blown me away.

In summary it's a book that focuses on one persons whole life growing up in Ireland. It's traumatic and shocking but the character development and the bits of humour are fantastic.

I did not realize it was the writer of the Boy In the Striped Pajamas, if I had known I could have prepared myself for the emotions.

If you love books that spans a whole persons life journey with the highs and lows I seriously recommend this book.

More importantly every Character is unique and incredibly written.

Please read it or talk to me about it.

Fabulous book. Has an epic feel, spanning several generations, countries, characters - all depicted with great detail, empathy. Great storytelling with a few gripping narratives all skillfully interwoven. Great love stories, losses, grief from conservative / regressive social and religious norms and stories borne from, set against and evolving through those.

Your description is great! And captures the emotions this book evokes.
