Filed HR Block 1/18/24 Accepted by IRS 1/19/24 Verification notice posted on my IRS account 2/4/24 No movement on my transcripts whatsoever

Called in just now to (844) 544-5640 and spoke with a gentleman who placed me on hold for 5-7 minutes. He acknowledged my return was indeed accepted on 1/19/24. He also acknowledged that somewhere along the process a flag was placed on my account for possible identity theft, hence the notice. Although the letter was prompted to be mailed on 2/4/24, it wasn’t mailed until 2/12/24. I am no longer at the address it was mailed to and asked if I could verify over the phone. He placed me on hold for another 5-7 minutes.

He came back on the line and said it was notice 5071c and that I was able to verify over the phone and transferred me to the department to do that.

An immediate transfer occurred and I was greeted by Ms. Jackson. I explained to her why I was transferred to her and she cut me off and said that I was incorrect and I was wrong. I informed her this is what the previous rep told me and she told me I was given misinformation. I then asked her about various people I’ve seen on these forums also being able to verify over the phone. She cut me off rudely again and asked her if I was questioning her on how to do her job and that she’s been doing it for 36 years. Never once was I rude or raised my voice or anything. She just kept cutting me off. She then said I need to make an in person appointment but she wasn’t able to do that, that I needed to call back in and start all over. I asked her if she could transfer me back and she cut me off before I could even finish and said “you’re gonna tell me how to do my job and not listen to me?” I then for the first time got angry and said, “are you generally an a$$hole to everyone you speak to?” and she took a deep breath before saying “I hope you never get your refund” and disconnected the call.

IRS, well played.
