Before I say anything else, please take what I say with a grain of salt as I’m not really good at conveying my thoughts and often end up being misunderstood.
When I say object I mean more like objective thinking whereby I think of any situation, problem, person, emotion, idea as an object with certain attributes. I was actually able to put all of this to words when I learnt OOP in programming. It’s like when I realise that I need to get better at being empathetic, I try to view the emotions as an object or a concept that I need to get a better understanding of. My mind almost creates a compartment for emotions and tries to list all the things associated with emotions in a chart-like manner and that is all that I can imagine when it comes to being empathetic. I am pretty sure most most people don’t think of emotions that way, and I believe you’re not supposed to either. I took up the example of emotions because it’s more subjective than anything. Even When I think of humour I think of all the subcategories under it and all the different types and instances of what is considered humorous and when.
I can go on and on about all this explaining my point but it’ll only make lesser and lesser sense the more I speak. I felt like more people think in somewhat the same way as I spent more time in this sub. Am I just insane or does it ring a bell?
