I've been toying with the idea of starting a YouTube channel that covers ... a wide variety of things. I came across another thread here were someone was indirectly pushed in the comments to quit and was disappointed in their quantity of subscribers.
I'm not too worried about that. I'm more concerned about stopping after a while due to lack of interest or just not pushing myself. I realize there's some blockers that crop up in my head that say "Oh, everyone and their mother does this type of content!"
I still think it would be cool to work on a channel. And I have several different ideas on what I want to focus on (basically: everything). I just need a consistent process to make this as easy as possible so it isn't stressful.
All of that out of the way: what does everyone look for in a channel before they subscribe or commit to watching someone's videos? I've noticed a consistent trend in certain channels that they are generally pretty consistent in their quality and/or the topics they discuss. Some channels are better than others, but for myself, I enjoy channels that get to the point and don't waste time.
What does everyone else look for?
Has anyone else started a channel, found some success and enjoyed it?
