I was scrolling back at some messages I sent a while ago found this one.
I think it's quite understandable on its own and that it shows that with self knowledge and some kind of assertiveness we can navigate this waters.

MESSAGE :
You pointed out that I should ask more about you. The first unstructured thought was "shit, I've been trying to figure out how to get this lovely girl to be interested in me and I'm just talking about myself". The second unstructured though was more comforting "wait a minute, she actually wants me to know more about her". The structured one came to me while driving back home.
I was wondering the why of my behavior. I figure that I'm not naturally/directly inquisitive, but on the other hand I'm pathologicaly curious. You said that I'd take a lot of time to get to know you. Honestly, I think I'm doing a good job at my frame of reference. For me, knowing someone is more about figuring out how they think than knowing facts about their past. I'm in that high right now and I'm quite pleased with what I'm discovering. I'm also trying to give you the same understanding of myself. And hey, even with my clumsiness, awkwardness, life baggage and physical contact neediness you're still agreeing to spend time with me (and even saying that you like it). I rely heavily on my intuition and deduction. I think I trust it more than whatever else. The way you talk, the way you move, your interests, how you talk about your family and friends and the things you bounce back when we're talking.... I'm tunned into all that. Of course knowing what got you here interests me. As I said, I'm curious. About literally everything. Sometimes I might pass the the impression that I'm not. Like you sometimes, my mind wonders easily. I go into tangents and I'm kind of hardwired to throw in a personal fact, trivia or opinion in order to get the person I'm talking with to feel at ease to go on. You do the same, don't you? Maybe with a lot more of "I don't care if it doesn't work". I don't care much either, but I think you win this one on me as I'm a child playing against a pro.
I'm not asking you to trust my intuition, on the contrary. I'm not very trustful of it either but I work with it. I do my soft enquiring to validate them or explore another hypothesis and I like to be wrong with it. It away means that afterwards it will be better.
Here again I spent time talking about myself and throwing in some opinions. Couldn't find a trivia to go with it...
Asking now: what do you think about this?
