I’ve seen so many therapists and they’re all a waste of time. Every single one, I just get to the point where I literally dread going because I know it’s a wasted hour that I could be using to do something more important. Or something that I actually enjoy doing.
The thing is, I have a problem hiding my pain and stress from my closest friends and family and don’t feel comfortable opening up to them. I wouldn’t mind seeing a therapist if they actually gave me practical advice on how to improve my life. But I have yet to find one that doesn’t spend an hour bullshitting about day to day crap, or giving me fake sympathy that I really don’t want or need. Fortunately, I haven’t wasted anything more than time, as my insurance is paying for it. But my time is valuable.
My boyfriend insists there are good therapists and I just need to find the right one, but I can’t help but feel like it’s all just a scam.
And instead of just downvoting, maybe share some words on what I’m doing wrong?
