I saw this idea from a comment on this subreddit before but I can't remember who, so if you think you're the one who commented it, please comment here so I can give proper credits.

As a PC player, matchmaking is basically dead. There is few player count and I think it continues to decrease every day goes by. But having cross platform would be awesome, (maybe) PC players have a disadvantage playing against console players but hey, atleast we would be able to play online. Maybe someone posted this kind of idea here but I guess it never hurts to try again. I'm pretty sure it would also boost the numbers of PC players playing this game.
