I'm looking for those okay with RevShare to help build parts of the core battle system for a turn based JRPG, that is to say simple things like executing a skill, using an item, etc. Even thought it's easy, i'm still looking to lower the time consuming part of actually creating it by recruiting help to speedup development.
A database of data tables are already in the works, and a strong vision for the game is set. Art is handled, altho if any artists are really interested you can hit me up, but i'm mostly just looking for someone to help build gameplay systems.
If this interests you, let me know (probably via DM so i actually see it lol). I have a lot of experience creating things, and came off a 2 week software jam where i made a touhou series modloader. I'm 29, i live in ontario canada, and i'm also a UI artist ontop of programmer. I went through game design school, and have helped others on various projects. I'm fluent in a variety of code languages, romhacking, and i'm a seasoned reverse engineer (that is someone who digs into software to figure out how it works, typically to make changes to, or create additional software for).
Altho not strictly necessary, i'm primarily looking for someone very familiar with JRPGs so i don't have to annoyingly over-explain every minor detail about why i'm asking for things a certain way. For example, people more western gaming based tend to lack an understanding about why it matters if effects stack additively or multiplicatively, or why menu layouts should show a lot of information sometimes, but split into multiple screens at other times. In my experience, only people already JRPG familiar have a good grasp of things like class variety or why most jrpgs have a unique aspect to their battle system.
As for the game itself, it's meant to focus on challenging boss fights, and team building, with a strong emphasis not just on party composition, but also on individual character builds. Unlike most INAT games Altho lower difficulty modes will exist, it is primarily being designed for more seasoned players.
I am only looking for fluent english speakers, and noone under the age of 20.
Lets make a JRPG for JRPG lovers.
