Cultures in ILY
Post Body

If you've been reading ILY then you most likely have picked up on all the subtle, cultural references embedded in the comic.

Nol's usually revolves over him being English/Irish --> he likes eating big English breakfasts, uses language such as "bloody", "what's the story" ( common irish thing I think ( this is from google btw )), "I'm at my wit's end", "gobshite", "throwing shapes, all bark, no bite" --> his love for potatoes/fried foods in general

Soushi says "mate" and apparently eats vegemite for breakfast both of which are Australian references

Dieter literally speaks German, and talks about different types of German food ( Berliner, Potato pancakes, Strauben ) so it's safe to assume Dieter drops a lot of German references

Kousuke, surprisingly I can't find any cultural references...maybe Quimchee will show them in time --> Japanese?

Rand likes eating licorice chocolate --> I went on google and found out that licorice is pretty popular in Nordic countries so I'm going to assume it's a cultural reference --> Icelandic?

Min-Hyuk --> "ketchup on hotdogs" = Chicago

I was wondering if you as the audience can attest to the accuracy of these cultural references? Are any of you part of these countries that the characters are from? What's it like? What are people like? Share your experience!
