I finally got my NOP this morning after sending off my timesheet early last week. & I saw that my check is $1 short. Some people may not have noticed, but I was one of the ones that did because my checks towards the end of each month have been the exact same for several months now since I claim that exact same hours each week/month. I tracked my past check stubs to see where the reduction occurred & saw that the reductions for SDI is now what has gone up an entire $1. I just googled & found out SDI stands for State Disability Insurance. My question is , since this check is from the work we performed from December 15- December 31 , why is there a change in the reductions on this check? Shouldn’t it be on the next paycheck, since it’ll be a January paycheck when the new taxes begin? Am I missing something? $1 off may not seem like a big deal to anyone, & it isn’t necessarily a big deal to me, but I believe in my reaction being based on the principle of the matter. I still currently have to wait another 2-3 business days for my direct deposit to hit my bank & my car payment is now past due , only to see that my check is technically shorter than usual without any additional information about that. Kinda grinds my gears a little bit.
