I have worked overnights at walmart the pass 6 and a half years. This walmart in particular is run by a guy whos brother is in the inner top circle of walmart so he runs it like his own store with no oversight what so ever. I have seen him meet the fire inspector at the door reach I his pocket, shake his hand both of them laugh then the fire inspector says good building here then say he's on his way to a steak dinner turn around and leave. There are live electrical outlets under water faucets.

In the entire 6 1/2 yrs I have been here we have never had visit by any higher-ups. Things are run down the pallet jacks barely work if we can get them up they will let themselves down. Their wheels are worn flat in most cases. Because not only does the manager not have to worry about oversight neither does day shifts. I have seen them take a running start and slam the steering bar sideways has a brake to see how far it slides and walk off laughing.

The managers are rude and couldn't care less about anything. Most don't know what their job is they just go to the back get a product and put it on the shelf regardless if that product goes there. Most are in their 50s but act like kids. Making up stories about us. Mostly its how we do nothing but sleep with each other in orgies, but I have heard others like my coworker was on the run from the Mexican police that is why he's up here.

Two managers have even threaten to shoot someone here. People have been rejected vacation regardless of reason given. Marriage, death in the family, even I have been rejected to go to the hospital. People get fired for no reason marriage, death in the family, hospital stays, college, etc.

Things we need to do our jobs like keys, radios or telxons (hand held devices that you can scan something to find out where it goes, how much it is, or if we have any in stock plus other things) are hidden by day shifts. If they forget where they hid it we get blamed

Workers are equally pathetic due to lack of training, oversight and after a while they stop caring if they ever did. They insult each other, spread rumors about each other steal each other's stuff. The use of racist and homophobic slurs is common. Many think a woman should not talk to a guy outside of marriage and if she does she's a slut. Breaks are only 15 minutes but many take much longer cause on one cares.

The floor crew on days doesn't do anything. I have been leaving at 7:20 and seen someone knock a glass jar off the shelf. And guess what when I got there that night the glass was still on the floor and we got bitched at on why we didn't clean it up.

The overnight floor crew I am on runs half a skeleton crew with only 2 people for a 85,000 sq ft store (manager says it's 110k but he likes to boast so I am rounding down and basing it on a nearby 25,000 ft building for sell). Well 3 if you count the supervisor but she bitches that since she is the supervisor she doesn't have to do anything.

We have never had training here granted it is walmart but we do run machines here. Oh we were shown how to make coffee and told that is the 1st thing we need to do after clocking in and that we need to check to see if it's fresh once an hr. Since we are so short handed we have to do multiple jobs a night.

For me it's been waxing, scrubbing and sweeping under the shelfs. If we have supplies the person that is in charge of ordering them sits in her office all day. We bring her a list of stuff we need but it's common to run out of wax, soap, cleaning items, paper towels, etc.

The scrubber is messed up they won't put in a work order for it. But we have to use it.

Going back to me sweeping under the shelfs it is common to find product under them. But here lately I have been finding crates if product under them. Some so big I had to take the shelf off to get it out. All have shoe prints on them where they were kicked under all visally damaged. I told the boss and shown them that these crates could not have got under there without someone forcing them there.

I knew nothing would happen but I had to say it. Then I am waxing I make a mistake it would take me about 15 minutes to fix so o go get what I need. When I get back the boss is there and tells me to stop she is going to have to let the big boss see this. I ask why. She says I messed up. I say I know but I can fix it in 15 minutes. She gets firm with me so I stop.

Floor looks horrible I don't know what awaits me when I get back.

Been that way my whole fucking existence. Other people getting a pass but me I get a sledgehammer to the face. I'm in college I drive about 45 minutes to it. There are no other places to work in this shithole town. Well the gas station, the McDonald's and another run down diner. The college says anyone taking classes there has to stay in the dorms the first 2 yrs. But me for some reason I was not allowed to. I have tried to move closer into a roach invested apartment but I have had doors slammed in my face before I even spoke to anyone. Jobs in the city my college is has done the same and the few times I made it to an interview the interviewer asks me if I am currently working and where. When I say walmart they go. Oh uh that place. It's just that we have hired people from there before and had to fire them the same day because they were rude and untrainable.
