Post Body

Oh finally, I have a place to tell this short blurb. Nothing too intense though.

I had gotten off work, still wearing my black chef's coat and black pants, and I was searching for the right flat rate box size for the large amount of things and very important snacks I was going to send my boyfriend.

Maybe it had been my intense sifting and searching through the stand's display of boxes or maybe it was my intense concentration that had drawn this unsuspecting person close to my orbit, I'll never know.

a noise behind me, sounds like words to my distracted ears

I turn my head to look at a middle-aged man looking directly at me. My first thought was 'Oh jeez, was I blocking the boxes?' I step a little to the side but he's still looking at me. "Excuse me, do you have any stamps with fireworks on them?" (This was around mid-June.) I can't help but give him a blank expression as I was just thinking about how to stuff a ton of candy and a stuffed animal into a box with books.

I can see his face change like the seasons, from questioning to irritated to my blank stare then he glanced over at me, maybe actually getting a good look at me. He slowly asks, "Wait...you don't work here, do you?"

...

"No?"

The man turned around after mumbling a quick sorry before scrambling awkwardly away.

Never did find the right box size.

tl;dr Dressed like a chef in a post office, random guy apparently thinks restaurants are part of the mail service now.
