I was having lunch at a seafood buffet with some friends this weekend. Itâs a Chinese seafood buffet and all the staff wore a black shirt and pants. Now Iâm Asian and I was wearing a black jacket/leggings, but I also was wearing with an orange grand canyon that was very visible from the front (jacket was not zipped) and I had a brown purse on me the whole time. Honestly I feel like it was very obvious I didnât work there but hey whatever; if youâre nice and accidentally thought I worked there itâs fine.
HOWEVERâ When I was coming back from the restroom, this group of ladies was waving their takeout bags in front of me and saying âHEY HEY!!â but I ignored them and went back to my table of friends (just two tables over) and as I walked past them I heard one of them call me a bitch and the rest of them laughed đ like wtf?
Youâre Asian, so clearly you cannot possibly be enjoying the same service as white people, you must be staff. I swear, some of these racist hags actually operate on that.
Feel free to message OP for clarification and share the reply. I know they were without having it spelt out for me.
By that logic, they should have shown her common courtesy too, right? Or it only applies to people who arenât old and white?
If they approached her in a civil manner, sure. They didnât, though, so there was no reason for her to be civil to them.
I am. I bet you, on the other hand, are a raging racist lunatic.

And why on earth should the OP not have ignored strangers waving bags at them?
