My name is Zach, and my friend Chris and I got extremely lucky. We attached ourselves to a research group that is traveling from New York to a particle accelerator (muon spectroscopy, to be specific) in Canada (TRIUMF) and ultimately ending up in an international conference in Japan. The group is lead by Professor Tomo Umeura, who has spent his career researching high temperature superconductors. As undergrads it is extremely fortunate that we have an opportunity to travel and do research, especially this early in our perspective scientific careers.
