Hi, I'm James Cordrey, Democratic candidate for 109th State Representative in the great state of Missouri. Back in March, I spent several hours answering questions about politics in Missouri. But, a lot has changed since then: We have a new governor, our primary election has come and gone, and Proposition A (Right to Work) failed by a healthy margin.
So I'm here to to answer your questions. The experience last time was great, and I got a lot of good feedback from a lot of people. I probably won't have as much time to answer questions tonight as I did back in March, but we'll give it a go.
A little bit about me: I'm a 32 year old software developer. I work for a company that helps banks process loans and prevent fraud. Before that, I worked for a document management software company, and before that I developed software for Hospitals. I grew up in a couple of different places in Missouri, but mostly on my Grandfather's farm. If you want to know more about my past, feel free to ask, or read the last AMA.
You can learn more about this campaign on my Facebook Page, or my Twitter Page, or my Instagram Page. The candidates in Franklin County were on stage together at a forum hosted by East Central Community College, and the audio was posted online by St. Louis Public Radio's Jason Rosenbaum. (The 109th district portion starts at the 1 hour and 27 minute mark.) I also had an interview on KTUI, which is a radio station based in Sullivan, MO., where I talked about the plans I want to work on if I'm lucky enough to be elected.
I have an opponent, now. His name is John Simmons. As the Missourian said, we don't have a lot of common ground. But that's okay. I believe in talking with people you disagree with, and having public debate. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like we're going to have any public debates in the 109th district.
That's why I wanted to have another AMA. I want people to ask questions that they want answers to, so they can make good choices when comparing candidates.
And, of course, if you're a US Citizen, and you want to donate to my campaign, you can do that here.
So, let's talk. What do you want to know? Ask me anything.
