When my father took his own life in 2016, I decided to row across the ocean with no prior experience. In 2020, I became the only person to solo row 2,700 miles from California to Hawaii with no prior rowing experience - a grueling adventure that lasted 71 days. This journey raised $77k for charity and funded the collection of 5k lbs of ocean plastic.

After surviving a heart attack and my mother also taking her own life in 2022, I’m back on the water again. This time I’ll spend roughly ⅓ of the year at sea to gather missing data to better understand how plastic is affecting our oceans, while also raising funds for river barriers to stop the plastic before it flows out to sea.
