So 22 limited HEV, promised at sale that the software upgrade to use CarPlay wirelessly was “imminent”. Never came and was bullshit.
So after lots of lamenting and being pissed at the unscrupulous dealership sales team, and the shortsightedness of the informatainment development people, I just invested in a wireless dongle converter.
Got the Carlin kit 5.0
So far it’s been pretty decent. A little awkward to find a good home to stick the converter box, but it’s out of the way and really fees up space than having a clumsy usb cord tether to my phone.
Connecting seems ok, but noticed it tends to need a manual reconnect if I am leaving the car and returning after a short parking period. (5-10 mins). Anyone else have that issue? Seems to be fine with a manual Bluetooth reconnection, but is there a trick to this?
