TLDR; too tired without Thyroid meds, to anxious with them. Curious if anyone has similar diagnosises and issues finding the right meds for all of them.
Hi guys, I was just diagnosed in March and started on 50mg of levothyroxine. I was soo exhausted from the hypo after a few weeks I felt like a new person. Doing my dishes finally.. making my bed.. going outside. Lol. Not considering the awful painful hormonal acne and mood swings toward the end of the day.. which eventually turned into anxiety which eventually turned into insomnia. It was helping my energy a lot.
Back story. I've been battling panic disorder for a few years now. Having to change my meds a lot because they stop working for my anxiety. Currently I'm on a mood stabilizer (trileptal) it's actually for seizures but it's the only thing that stops my panic attacks.
I have ADHD but had to stop my medicine for that because any stimulants make me have panic attacks.
Alcohol, weed, any kind of drugs even some foods make me have panic attacks.
Levothyroxine eventually started getting me there too. Which sucks. But I stopped sleeping. My primary care doctor told me if it's making my anxiety that bad to stop taking it. So I cut it in half and I'm taking 25mg. Still feeling the anxiety, insomnia and mood swings.
I started my mood stabilizer in March and I haven't been perfect on it but had less bad days than I did when I started Levo.
I've heard good things about armour thyroid and thought about asking my doctor about that.
I also wanted to inquire if anyone has all of these or similar diagnosises and how they are medicated? Because my mood stabilizer makes me drowsy dizzy and cloudy but levo makes me too anxious but finally have the energy I need.
The only supplement I take is 50,000 IUD of vitamin D a week.
B complex vitamins make me have panic attacks.
Sorry for the long post. If I didn't expand upon anything that could help or you need more background please ask.
