I put “genuine” in quotes because I’m not a hypnotist and know nothing about actually hypnotizing someone.
But I can “hypnotize” you with words, and fantasies, in the psychological sense of things.
What do you want your hypnotist to do? It’s to make you surrender, isn’t it? It’s to make you incapable of resisting anything he wants, so you can fully embrace the feeling of nothingness, isn’t it?
I can do that for you.
I’ll do it by building rapport with you and cajoling you and crawling under your skin in a way that’s both comfortable and irresistible.
I’ll persuade you that surrendering your mind to my will is a feedback loop you can’t let go of, so long as you commit to not letting go of it.
I’ll pull that off by investing you in my complicated personality.
It will work if you have a similarly complicated personality.
I know because I’ve done it.
If you like being subtly manipulated over time by a genuine conversation, there’s a good chance I can fuck your mind over completely.
Which, if you ask me, is a more genuine thing than a dude swinging a watch, or whatever.
