Fischer iontophoresis experience follow up. Palmar/Plantar Hyperhidrosis
Post Body

TL;DR: My results after 10 sessions are wonderful. I'm not completely dry, but that's likely due to my initial conservative approach with the mA settings. I'm steadily progressing toward complete dryness and highly recommend this specific machine to anyone interested in trying iontophoresis.

Delivery: Not so long ago, I shared how I decided to order an iontophoresis machine from Fischer, known to be a leading manufacturer of these machines. Unfortunately, my first machine was stolen. After posting about the theft, a Fischer team member advised me to contact customer support, which quickly arranged a replacement. They even included free signature delivery, which I greatly appreciated.

Setup: The convenience of this manufactured machine far exceeds that of a DIY version. It's made from high-quality materials, comes with a detailed instruction manual, and features a user-friendly control module that saves your settings. My only critique, albeit minor, is the desire for differently colored cables connecting to the trays to aid in setup—they're both white, which once led to a setup error. Although easily resolved with the manual and control module alerts, color-coding would have prevented the confusion. Additionally, a way to prompt up the control module to check remaning time would be very useful, but this is a slight nitpick.

Usage: I've used the machine for 10 sessions of 15 minutes each, the minimum Fischer suggests for results. The outcomes align with my expectations. Initially, I set the electric flow from E1 >> E2, which in hindsight, skewed the dryness to my left side. If starting over, I'd use the AUTO setting for even effects on both hands/feet, despite possibly having to wait longer to see results.

The discomfort is manageable, slightly uncomfortable during mA increases. Using warmer tap water, as the manual recommends, enhances comfort. The manual's advice to start at 3 mA for hands and slightly higher for feet due to thicker skin is wise to prevent adverse effects. However, I found 3 mA ineffective for me and adjusted to 15 mA for my hands, still fine-tuning for my feet but should have increased mA sooner.

I've experienced some itchiness at my palms' edges from the treatment, possibly indicating 15 mA is too high. Yet, it's bearable, and hand lotion quickly alleviates the issue. The machine's ease of cleaning, quick drying, and straightforward storage significantly improve upon my DIY attempts.

Overall, I highly recommend this product. The only other treatment I've found effective is antihydral, which, while effective for drying hands, is challenging to use consistently without over-drying or risking skin damage and infection.

This machine is ergonomically designed, comfortable for its required use, and it's the best solution I've yet found for my hyperhidrosis.

Over All: I highly recommend this product. The only other things that I've had sucess with has been anti-hydral, which was worked great at drying my hands, but it's a bit of a pain to maintain a steady functional schedule and it's extremely drying if overdone (which is easy to do.) Furthermore, antyhydral's drying capabilities can be very damaging to the skin and can lead to infection if it's too dry. This is a much better treatment option and, while a bit pricey, it's well worth the investment even with the limited results I've received so far. I'm excited to finally do the things that I've always dreamed about doing like taking a dacing class, going rock climbing without having to be scared of hurting myself, etc. I'm very excited about the results I've had so far and I'm very grateful for the speady and high quality customer support I received from Fischer.
