I can’t believe it…
Post Body

Hi everyone,

As an avid hydration enthusiast, I would like to share my story.

I’ll start off with some background information on myself

I’m 29 years old, about 200 lb (down from about 300 in the past two years) so id say I’m in fairly decent shape.

I am a very active person. I got to the gym to run, lift weights, and sauna almost everyday. On top of that I play adult softball twice a week in the Texas heat. I drink over a gallon of water and electrolyte beverages to compensate for this.

Well this past Saturday I did all of the normal stuff, and about 4 hours of paintball in 100 degree weather. After that we had a few beers, nothing crazy. Made sure to hydrate as I drank beer as well. Saturday ends and everything is fine.

Fast forward to Sunday night, same routine, no drinking alcohol at all.

About 8pm I stand up to get something from the fridge and the whole room began to spin worse than anything I’ve ever experienced. Minutes later I’m vomiting uncontrollably. I thought that I was going to die right there on the floor. This persisted until the next morning when I eventually went to the ER.

They took some blood to test and put me on an IV, gave me anti nausea, and vertigo medication.

When the test came back I was very dehydrated with the onset of pancreatitis!!!!

Anyways I’m doing better now after about 4 days thinking I had brain damage because of the persistent vertigo days later.

I feel very betrayed by my body

Any tips to prevent this from happening again?

Thanks!
