I love how Huntsville continues to annex massive swaths of residential area, forcing said residents to pay Huntsville property taxes but then turns around and puts that money into projects that don't serve us. Most of the people living in limestone county that are part of Huntsville have to rely on Madison (i.e Palmer, Dublin) or Athens for community services and honestly it's not fair to them. The vast majority of Huntsvilles community centers and sports complexes are in south Huntsville with a few in north Huntsville. Huntsville has largely fucked over the rest of us.
The shear size of district 5 also pisses me off. The district Huntsville doesn't seem to give a shit about imo.
Update: yes annexation is voluntary from the city's perspective but developers are the ones applying for annexation. If i buy a house in the county or harvest it's likely to be part of Huntsville. The point still remains. Huntsville us bringing in a lot of tax revenue from limestone county but has done little in of the way of investing in the area.
