Hi again! Sorry for the double post I just want the most information. After further research the 350 Legend may not be 100% legal 100% of the time which is a concern. I live in Ohio and the law for hunting deer is the cartridge must be between a .357-.5 caliber. Ideally I’d purchase a rifle in a caliber that is legal in all 50 states. As I currently live in Ohio but I may have to move around when I get out of college, I’m a green energy major and might live in upstate New York by Buffalo. The cartridges that I’ve looked at are .357 magnum, .44 magnum, and 450 Bushmaster. I’ve heard that 45-70 is a beast to shoot, so it’s a bit frightening to someone who hasn’t shot something harder than low brass 12 gauge. My main requirements are: 1. Legal in Ohio (preferably all 50). 2. Commonly available ammunition. 3. Available in bolt or lever action rifles. 4. Decent recoil, I’m 5’7” 145lbs and haven’t had much high caliber shooting experience. 5. Relatively inexpensive to shoot. While I know talk is cheap and ammo is expensive I enjoy having both my kidneys and don’t plan on selling one to pay for ammunition. Any cartridge and rifle recommendations are greatly appreciated!
