What guns should I get for hunting? (bird and white tail)
Post Body

Hi everyone, I’m looking to get my start in hunting! I live in Ohio so I’m only allowed to use straight walled cartridges or 10 gauge and under slugs. I have a smooth bore Mossberg 500 which I use for shooting clays right now but I plan to use for waterfowl. When I was looking into straight walled cartridges I thought the 350 Legend would be best. I’m 5’7” 145lbs so something too big seems a bit scary to me just because I’m used to 12 gauge and .22lr. I’m mostly looking for bolt actions, I mostly saw CVA, Savage, Ruger, and Mossberg. Are there any recommendations? Anything is appreciated!

EDIT: I did more reading and I’m not certain that 350L will be 100% legal. I want something with lower recoil so potentially .44 magnum I’m not too sure
