Late September Chukar in Northern AZ?
Post Body

My soon to be wife and I will be out in Las Vegas for a friend’s wedding—by way of PA—and driving down to Flagstaff and around Northern AZ in late September for a mini honey moon. I’ve taken her upland hunting once and she absolutely loved it. We bagged wild chukar and pheasant and she’s a great shot!

I know quail season is closed. Is it worth a shot at Chukar hunting. I really like public land over preserves, but maybe I have the wrong idea of preserves being from the East Coast. We won’t have a dog, but is it worth going after Chukar that early in Northern AZ? If so are there are guides for hire or recommendations? I’m a very lucky guy that this is what she wants to do on our mini honey moon. There isn’t much info online for anything other than quail. Thanks!
