I'll explain the process, but let's just get to the ranking first. In brackets are the average rankings:
- Yorknew City (1.89)
- Chimera Ant (2.08)
- Greed Island (4.04)
- Chairman Election (4.22)
- Hunter Exam (4.44)
- Heaven's Arena (4.66)
- Zoldyck Family (6.56)
I searched through a ton of posts from this subreddit asking about ranking arcs. I tracked the reddit usernames of the comments in order to not use duplicate opinions from different posts
I decided to include the Zoldyck Family arc, however not every ranking separated it. In that case, I used the ranking from 1-6. Exactly one-quarter of rankings (25/100) did not include the Zoldyck Family arc. I realize that some of the rankings only going to 6th instead of 7th alters the numbers a bit, but because this arc was so clearly the least favourite, it didn't impact the overall rankings at all.
In cases where people included manga arcs post-Election, I simply ignored them. Those arcs do tend to be ranked quite high though, usually in the top 3
Below are the total number of people who ranked each arc in each position. Remember that because 25 comments didn't include the Zoldyck Family arc, there are only 75 seventh place rankings
