Hi!
I have a website which provides free math games and other resources to parents and teachers of school-aged kids. I'd like to make one of the games into a professionally-printed product people can buy.
The game in question is this one: http://www.dr-mikes-math-games-for-kids.com/dice-of-destiny.html
I plan to fund this via Kickstarter or Indiegogo, promoted through my facebook page (1300 followers) Youtube channel (1500 subscribes) and email newsletter (2000 subscribers).
So though I'm "hiring" now, the job is not ready to roll yet, and depends on the success of the kickstarter. I hope this doesn't break the rules of this subreddit!
Artwork needed:
- 9 characters, being "troops" of various strengths. They shouldn't be actual soldiers! I'm thinking of a cartoony, kid-friendly theme, eg kittens&cats, puppies&dogs, animals, robots, whatever.
- 4 "powers" (see the web page to understand what these power cards do)
- Resurrection (eg, a troop coming back from the dead),
- Swap a card (eg, a troop being exchanged with another troop),
- Re-roll (eg, a troop parrying another troop's attack),
- An extra die (eg, a troop gaining extra strength/power/whatever)
That's a total of 13, or maybe 52 different sketches, plus artwork for the packaging. Preferably in SVG or other vector format.
The rules say I must state a budget, but I have no idea. This is the first time I've ever commissioned artwork. I'll say $500, but please tell me if this is way too little or too much. The price of this artwork is the main piece of information to put together and promote the kickstarter.
Thanks!
