Hi and thank you for trying to solve this.
For 2.5 years I used very high does of rx amphetamines daily, and it destroyed me. 9 months out- sober from everything.
The only medications I’m on are low dose Lexapro (been on this forever), 600-900 mg Gabapentin, and 150 mg Wellbutrin.
I don’t drink caffeine after noon. Although this was never a problem before stimulants.
I’ve tried it all: sleep hygiene, supplements, light therapy, exercise, quit nicotine 30 days ago, etc., and I just can’t sleep. It makes me so lethargic and useless during the day. I’m like a zombie.
I wake up every 1-2 hours like a shot of adrenaline, and then pass out about 30-60 minutes later.
After about 6 hours of this, I’ll finally fall asleep for 4 hours, and have insane dreams, and wake up feeling half asleep for most of the day.
Doctors have no more answers. It’s ruining my life.
Part of me wonders if it’s the Gabapentin but I hear that it’s supposed to improve sleep.
The only hope I have is that as my brain continues to heal and recover it will get better.
Appreciate any thoughts and solutions.
Really?! Wow. Maybe I’ll try it.
I’m not disagreeing, but I’ve been on it for 20 years and slept fine before.
However, it is my goal to get off and I’ve been slowly tapering off.

Thank you so much. This is the best reassurance I’ve received all day.
