Suggestions on when to hand my notice in to avoid paying 2 rents?

Post Body

I have been to look at a property & it appears that I have been accepted for it & are just awaiting references & credit checks. I was told that the current landlord is due to leave on the 15th November give or take a couple of days. I am currently renting & because I did not renew my fixed term tenancy I am sure they said I only had to give a weeks’ notice. I pay my rent on the 25th of each month which is my payday therefore I would like to keep this the same in my new property. My question is how & when should I give my notice in to my current landlord? I was thinking of giving it in on the 25th October & then I would pay a month rent until 25th November & ask my new landlord / estate agent if I can move in on the 23rd. The 25th of November is a Sunday, so I will not be able to pay my rent / deposit on that day for the new place so would they let me move in before & pay on the Monday 26th November? I just do not want to have to pay on two properties & I would like to pay my rent around my pay day. Hope this hasn’t confused anyone & can anyone suggest another way I maybe able to do this?
