Sending the solicitor my survey
Post Body

Hello, we are selling 2 properties (home And our starter home we let our) and buying 1. We are also downsizing as I have healthy issues which is making my job a bit too hard full time.

We are not using a mortgage so no bank involved.

We have zero DIY skills, nor know anyone to help out or advise.

We have a survey booked for this week- just chose a level 3, as I don’t want any problems and the price difference was fine. Also will want to one day do some work to it- lost conversion, or side extension. The house itself has a single storey extension to the rear and a basis loft conversion.

My solicitor said to send them my survey. People keep telling me not to and that it will cause bumps in my transactions.

However, their concerns all stem From there being a bank involved and we don’t want to discuss that aspect of our finances with people we know well.

Should we just send them to him and let them Work it out. Our estate agent seemed to find it ridiculous we would use a level 3, and even more incredulous we would send it to the solicitor- but conceded it might help.

So….what do people reckon.

Ps- selling and buying a house has been the most prolonged, painful process I’ve ever endured, and I’ve had severe medial issues so I don’t say that lightly.
