Hi everyone,
I'm at the beginning of my career and have been offered a job in London with a starting salary of £33,000 a year. My salary is expected to increase after I qualify. I'm trying to figure out if it's feasible to live comfortably in London on this salary, and I would really appreciate some advice from those who have experience with living in the city.
Specific Questions:
Is it realistic to live in London on £33k a year, considering rent, bills, and general living expenses?
What areas or zones would you recommend that are affordable yet safe and convenient for commuting?
Would a house share be more realistic to manage costs effectively? If so, any tips on finding good house shares?
Any budgeting tips or cost-saving advice for someone new to London?
I'm willing to consider living a bit further out if it means more affordable rent.
I'll be relying mostly on public transportation for commuting.
Thank you in advance for any insights or recommendations you can share!
Edit: Forgot to mention, I'm open to any general advice on moving to and living in London. All tips are welcome!
Welp- I stand corrected about that then 😳
How many is everyone? That would explain the rent I guess
That sounds like a very fancy car too 🚙 My car insurance is like £270
