Landlord has threatened rent increase and eviction as revenge a few weeks ago for billing him for faulty and decrepit plumbing. He says he wants to have the house valued and wants me to grant access to estate agents. I’ve been receiving calls and voice notes from his wife, whom I have never previously spoken to before and have never had any dealing with regarding the property in the seven years I have rented this house. I have not responded to her at all. Today I received a phone call from someone claiming to be from an estate agent on behalf of the landlord, who then quickly admitted that he was a friend of the landlord when I stated I would not be granting access. I texted my landlord to say that I am not obligated to speak to nor grant access to anyone besides him. He says that he is entitled to use anyone he wants as a representative of himself and that the wife is my landlord too. He also said he has sent a friend to knock on my front door, however I was not aware of this as I must not have been home. What is the legality surrounding this? Is this legally considered harassment?
